| Additional Information |
| ZG.54 represents the best solution, sofar, of the Prisoner of War theme. Returns from German prisoners confirm that it carries a very high degree of credibility, due to the obvious lack of embellishments or "true but unlikely" statements. This leaflet enables the German soldier to think of captivity in terms of definite mental images - thus overcoming his fears of the unknown. Due to the late stage of the warm all long-term arguments on prisoner camps (study, pay, PX's, etc.) have been eliminated. The red panel over the last picture calls attention to the fact that, since the war is nearly over, POWs are no longer shipped overseas. This carries the implication that prisoners taken now will get home soon. |
